  Wolfram P2K

The Wolfram P2K is the gun you first start Nightfire with, it comes with a handy silencer you can attach to take out enemies, with out raising the alarm. It's real life name is the Walther P99, the Bond for runner to this is the Walther PPK , the gun that is most famous with James Bond.

The Walther P99 semiautomatic Pistol is manufactured by Carl Walther
  • Calibre: 9mm x 19mm Parabellum
  • Weight: 630 grams empty; 829.06 grams loaded with magazine with 16 rounds
  • Length: 180mm
  • Barrel length: 102mm
  • Rate of fire: 137 rounds per minute (theoretical)
  • Magazine capacity: 16 rounds (10 rounds for U.S.A. civilian version)
  • Effective range: ?

The design of the Walther PP9 was initiated in 1994 to replace the P88 and was finished in 1996. There where many designer's who contributed into making the pistol, Carl Walther himself and also Horst Wesp who had previously worked for Steyr and Glock .The pistol is housed in a polymer frame that makes it a very light weight weapon at 630 grams. It was developed on the basis of the latest technology for military and police use and for self defence and can carry a large magazine of up to 16 rounds. The metal parts have had special surface treatment (Tenifer) to provide a water proof surface to prevent corrosion. It fits into the hand like a glove with it's ergonomic grip that was designed by the world famous Olympic Pistol grip maker Cesare Moroni of Italy. One of the many features of this pistol is the loaded-chamber indicator that works with the extractor. When the chamber is empty, the extractor is flush with the slide. When the chamber is loaded, a red mark is exposed and the extractor is noticeably back from the outside shape of the slide. This is very handy for bad light situations, the shooter's fingers can distinguish the difference and thus inform them of the condition of the chamber.

P99 Breakdown

The Walther P99 is a recoil operated, locked breech pistol, that used modified Browning style locking via extraction port in the slide. It is striker fired and has no manual safeties and three automatic safeties: Striker safety, Trigger safety and Out of battery safety. Also, it has manual decocking button in the rear upper part of the slide. When the first shot is made, it takes a lot longer to fire than subsequent shots this is because of the safety designs of the Walther PP9. The first shot is fired using the 'anti-stress trigger', which is designed to reduce stress-related accidental discharges. Single- and double-action modes both begin with the trigger in the forward position. Squeezing the trigger slightly, when in single-action mode, will set it into the rear position. If you remove your finger, the trigger will remain in the rear position. Squeezing it further will cause the striker to fire the round in the chamber. (Right a breakdown of the PP9)

(* Below Limited edition 007 version) The pistol is marked with the serial number 007 as well as with the coat of arms of the Secret Service.

P99 JB II Limited Edition

There is an American Version of the P99 that is partly made by Smith and Wesson (USA civilian version). This only has a 10 round magazine.
